Voter Information
Registration
You must be a registered voter to vote in Idaho. You have the option of registering online; printing out the registration form and mailing it in; or registering on election day at your polling location or at an Early Voting facility. However, the deadline to register online or by mail is 24 days before an election.

If registering at the polling location, you will need to bring photo ID and proof of residency with you.
Allowable Photo ID
- Idaho Driver’s License
- Idaho Identification Card
- Passport or Federal ID
- Tribal ID Card
- Concealed Weapons License issued by a county sheriff in Idaho
Allowable Proof of Residency
- Above photo ID with the correct address
- Proof of insurance
- Mortgage, lease, or rental agreement
- Property tax assessment, bill
- Utility bill (no cell bills)
- Bank/credit card statement
- Paystub/paycheck
- Intake document to a care facility
- Enrollment letter from an Idaho high school or university
- Letter from a social service agency
Voting
Voting can be done in either of three ways:
- Request and mail in an absentee ballot
- Early voting at an early voting location
- Election Day voting at your polling location
Absentee Ballot
Absentee ballots can be requested up to 11 days before the election. the ballot must be received by the county elections office by 8:00pm on Election Day. Ballots may be mailed in (allow time to arrive at the required time), deposited into an official elections drop box, or delivered to your county elections office.
Early Voting
Early voting ends the day before Election Day. In Ada County, early voting is location at these locations:
- Ada County Elections
- Boise City Hall
- Meridian City Hall
- Eagle Public Library
- Kuna City Hall
- Library! at Bown Crossing
Mobile voting is also available. Check the calendar for a location near you.
Polling Location
Votes may be cast at your Precinct polling location from 8:00am to 8:00pm on Election Day. You must have photo ID with you from the Allowable Photo ID list above.
