Ada County Elections
In 2024 there are the following offices up for election in Ada County:
- County Commissioner, District 1
- County Commissioner, District 3
- County Sheriff
- County Prosecuting Attorney
County Commissioner
Contrary to how we think most “districts” work, Commissioners are not representative of a particular district. Rather it’s a way to to differentiate each Commissioner’s seat from the others. In short, anyone in Ada County can cast their vote for a candidate for each Commissioner’s seat.
Ryan Davidson and Tom Dayley are seeking re-election as Commissioners. They have done some amazing things with Ada County in their tenure. Things like lower Ada County property taxes and establish an innovative project to burn decomposition gases from the Ada County landfill to generate electricity!
County Sheriff
Doug Traubel and Matt Clifford are again going head-to-head for County Sheriff. Take a look, do your research, and decide for yourself.
County Prosecuting Attorney
Jan Bennetts is running for re-election as Ada County’s Prosecuting Attorney. I’ve spoken with Jan and I have been impressed with her dedication to the job. I think most impressive is the fact that, from all sides of the political debate, people who work with Jan have nothing but praise for the way she runs the Prosecuting Attorney’s office.
